These are the Local Businesses that Sponsor the Anti-Abortion Billboards in Niagara (2024)

Choose Life Niagara, a local charity, pays for hundreds of anti-abortion billboards throughout Niagara year-round. In order to fund this massive spending, they receive donations from local businesses. In 2024, they posted these businesses publicly on their website (see PDF screenshot to the left).

Niagara Reproductive Justice contacted each of the businesses to ask if they would like to clarify their support for these anti-abortion billboards before we publish their names on our social media and website. Only one business got back to us — White Oaks — thanking us for our email and providing no additional comments.

After NRJ emailed these businesses, Choose Life Niagara took down their public listing and edited their newsletter archives to get rid of any mention of the businesses that sponsor their billboards (see screenshot of page 3 of their June 2024 newsletter below, prior to editing to remove sponsors).

Unfortunately for them, NRJ was able to obtain the original PDFs before they were taken down.

We posted this information publicly on social media. White Oaks accused us of misinformation on our Instagram page and over email, but later admitted that they were a sponsor in 2024. They now claim that they are no longer a Choose Life Niagara sponsor and say that they take this matter very seriously.

Choose Life no longer publicly posts their sponsors. Local businesses are afraid that they will lose business if people know they donate money to anti-abortion causes. Undoubetdly, they continue to donate, but do so in secret now.
