Niagara Life Centre is an Anti-Abortion Crisis Pregnancy Centre

Niagara Life Centre has spent decades building a network of manipulative, secretive, anti-science fake clinics in Niagara

The Niagara Life Centre promotes themselves as a low-cost mental health services, but in reality, NLC was founded as a “crisis pregnancy centre” (CPC) — as they state on their website:

Not only are they one of the 150+ anti-abortion crisis pregnancy centers in Canada, Niagara Life Centre also founded 4 other CPCs in Niagara, including Clarity Pregnancy Options which manipulates people with misleading Google ads and offers anti-gay conversion therapy, among other terrible things.

If you’re mad about the anti-abortion misinformation that’s everywhere in Niagara, Niagara Life Centre is the one to blame.

Crisis Pregnancy Centres, such as the Niagara Life Centre, are anti-abortion Christian charities that pose as reputable medically-backed facilities. Their mission is to convince people not to get abortions.

Crisis Pregnancy Centres, such as the Niagara Life Centre, lure people to their doorstep with the fake promise of abortion support. One of Niagara Life Centre’s branch organizations, Clarity Pregnancy Options, takes out misleading Google advertisements with URLs such as “abortioninniagara,” advertising easily accessible abortion services that they do not actually provide.

Instead, when someone visits a Crisis Pregnancy Centre like Niagara Life Centre, they are lied to about abortion and told false information such as that abortion causes breast cancer and that getting an abortion will cause them to be rejected by God and their family.

Screenshot of the sponsored Google ad that appears when “abortion in Niagara” is searched. Clarity Pregnancy Options does not provide or refer for abortions, yet they advertise that they do.

Dangerous, anti-scientific health misinformation is being spread rapidly in Niagara by the Niagara Life Centre and its subsidiaries.

Unfortunately, many funding bodies and social service agencies are unaware of the Niagara Life Centre’s true mission, and they continue to support and refer to them.

Spread the word to stay away from Niagara Life Centre!

Which local businesses sponsor the Niagara Life Centre?

In June 2025, we reached out to all of the businesses that Niagara Life Centre lists as a sponsor on their website (screenshots below of our email and from the Niagara Life Centre website listing their sponsors)

“Hello,

We hope this email finds you well. We noticed that [your company] is listed as sponsors of the Niagara Life Centre. We wanted to make sure that you knew that the Niagara Life Centre is an explicitly anti-abortion organization.

Although the Niagara Life Centre provides low-cost mental health services that appear to be a service to the community, it is important to note that NLC was founded as a “crisis pregnancy centre” (CPC) — as they state on their website — and continues to be primarily concerned with the establishment and funding of other CPCs in Niagara. CPCs are anti-abortion organizations whose goal is to persuade people to not get an abortion by posing as medically-informed healthcare clinics and providing misinformation about the safety of abortion to the people they attract to their office. The Wikipedia page on Crisis Pregnancy Centres can provide some helpful context about the CPC movement in the U.S. and Canada.

Regardless of one’s opinion about abortion, it is important that we do not allow the spread of misinformation about health/healthcare and that we do not support organizations engaging in deceitful tactics (the Liberals recently talked about addressing this issue with CPCs).

We understand that this information is well-hidden and that Niagara Life Centre (like most CPCs) does not make this inherently clear to the public or their sponsors. We wanted to bring this to your attention so that you are informed regarding your choice to support them, have your brand and logo associated with them, and to give you a chance to respond in advance of us sharing this information with the broader public in an effort to highlight anti-abortion companies in the region (similar to our recent posts about the sponsors of the Choose Life Niagara Billboards).

We hope you understand that we see the spread of misinformation regarding healthcare as an urgent issue. As such, if you would like to respond, we would appreciate it if you did so before June 18th.

Sincerely,

The Niagara Reproductive Justice Team”

None of the businesses told us that they would be pulling their sponsorship. They all continue to support the Niagara Life Centre.
