For copper IUD/hormonal IUS prescription and insertion, call the Niagara Region Sexual Health Centre to receive a referral to a local GP or OBGYN. IUD/IUS insertion is covered by OHIP, but the prescription is not. Copper IUDs are usually about $50, while IUSs can be $400 or more. Talk to a nurse at the Sexual Health Centre about which option might be best for you. NOTE: The Sexual Health Centre cannot prescribe or insert IUD/IUS but they can refer you to a physician or clinic that does.
